What is the Scholar Program?

bat365 Scholar (grades 6-12) or Scholar Jr (grades 1-5) offers a flexible schedule that allows students to pursue outside interests while maintaining a high-quality education. It supports families needing their students to learn outside the typical school day, whether due to the availability of learning coaches or participation in extracurricular activities like acting, competitive sports, or music. Students selected in the bat365 Scholars or Scholar Jr Program will have increased flexibility in their daily attendance. By maintaining grades and pace in coursework, students will have the eligibility to remain in the program throughout the school year.

Secondary Scholars (Grades 6-12) Attendance

Students will not be required to attend live google meet sessions five days a week. However, students will still need to demonstrate their participation in each course each week by establishing two-way communication with their teachers, completing required attendance forms, and submitting assignments on a weekly basis for each course.

Elementary Scholars Jr (Grades 1-5). Attendance

Scholar Jr. Students:

Must Attend at least 1 Literacy Block Small Group each week with the camera on and 1 Math lesson or small group.
May attend any or all whole group sessions during the week.
Complete 1 AM and 1 PM subject assignment daily for attendance.
Submit the Scholar Attendance Form by 2:00 PM to be marked as present that day. Late submissions (2:01 PM - 11:59 PM) may result in a temporary absence and will take 24-48 hours to be corrected.
Attendance Forms submitted the next day or later will be marked as absent.
Participate in CRT State Testing at bat365 and MAP Testing online.
Students in special programs (GATE, TAGS, Special Education) must attend those sessions.
Students with IEPs must attend all required instructional minutes.
Students identified for RTI must attend Literacy Blocks daily
If a student attends live lessons in the AM, fill out attendance for the PM and vice versa.

Assignments and Grading for Scholar Programs

Scholar students remain responsible for all assignments and due dates as noted in Canvas.
Extensions for assignments must be asked for by the learning coach via proper communication. Extensions will remain at the sole discretion of the teacher.
Must maintain grades of C or better in all subjects
High school Scholars must complete all semester exams
D or F grades in one or more subjects at the Quarter and/or Semester will result in Academic Probation, and removal from the Scholar Program.
Failure to participate in MAP testing and/or required State testing will result in Academic Probation, and removal from the Scholar Program.

Scholar students agree to meet the attendance, participation, assignment, and learning requirements of the Scholar Program. Any violations of the program may result in dismissal from the program at the Quarter. Indicators of violations include, but are not limited to Academic Probation and Truancy Notices. Dismissal from the Scholar Program will result in placement in bat365’s traditional online learning program, with full time attendance and participation.

Do not apply for bat365 Scholar Jr. (grades 1-5) using the above link. Scholar Jr. Applications received via the above link will not be considered.
